Erin, Here are some books that I enjoy. I don't know what genre of books you enjoy but i'll just name some of my favorites.
-The Hunchback of Notre-Dame - Victor Hugo -Les Miserables - Victor Hugo These books are some of my favorites but please note that they are not the happiest books. (oh and these books are long, especially les mis, so if you do not want the sheer massiveness of them, consider the abridged versions) -The Dune Series - Frank Herbert (read at least the first one) -the Deverry Series - Katherine Kerr -Any books by Philip Pullman (I guess they are for children/teens but I'm not sure having read them) His (now) famous book is the Golden Compass -The Phantom of the Opera - Gaston Leroux If you are into dark and weird stuff check out H.P Lovecraft. He is famous for The Call of the Cthulhu -The Historian - Elizabeth Kostova Margaret Weis is a good fantasy writer (and joint books with tracy Hickman are good too) And I can't forget my favorite "trilogy" if you want a laugh, check out the author Douglas Adams.
I know its a seeming random list of books from Historical Fiction to silly Sci Fi, but please enjoy!c ,Geoff
